What to Expect with ACT Online and In-Person Testing
Familiarize yourself with the ACT's new look and feel by trying a few ACT sample questions as well as a full-length practice test in the new format.
Because the ACT test content is the same whether taking it online or on paper, these practice resources are a great way to prepare for either.

ACT Full-Length Practice Tests
Starting in April 2025, examinees who take the ACT test online in National testing will receive the ACT test with the new enhancements. These full-length practice tests are available in timed and untimed versions.
Beginning with the September 2025 test, all students testing on a Saturday (online and paper) will experience the benefits of the new enhanced ACT.
Please note: answers for English, Mathematics, Reading and Science sample questions will not be saved if the page is refreshed/closed.
- You can use the timed version for standard timing conditions.
- If you need to adjust the timing (see below), use the untimed version. Consider keeping a stopwatch or clock nearby, or set a phone alarm with your timing condition if you wish to time.
- Each subject must be taken in a single session. If the window is closed; responses will not be saved.
- Once the test is completed; a report will be provided. Be sure to save the details from this page if you wish to keep them, as the page will not save them.
- Note: This is a practice test for guidance only. Your Writing essay will not be saved or scored.

Authorized Timing For Sections of the ACT Exam
Each section of the ACT varies in length and number of questions. If you need accommodations such as one and a half time, double time, or triple time over multiple days, please work with your school’s Test Accommodations Coordinator (TAC) to submit a request through ACT’s Test Accessibility and Accommodations System (TAA).
